Croatia Control greeted the Croatia national football team as the Croatia Airlines airplane transporting the team entered Croatian airspace:
“Our dear Vatreni, the participants of the Croatian football storm Russia 2018, Croatia Control proudly greets you and welcomes you into Croatian airspace. Thank you for the demonstrated togetherness and team spirit, with a single word to be added: NEOPISIVO (indescribable).”
Vatreni were greeted by Boris Mrkonja, Approach Surveillance Controller and Deputy Head of Zagreb ACC, who also guided the bronze-medal-winning Croatia national football team of 1998 on their way home from France to Croatia.
