Croatia Control Ltd has been awarded a Letter of Appreciation by the National Protection and Rescue Directorate for the development and upgrade of the 112 system in the Republic of Croatia.
On the occasion of observing the European 112 Day, Jadran Perinić, Director of the National Protection and Rescue Directorate, today presented the awards to individuals and institutions, and among others to CCL, which was received by Director General Dragan Bilać.
The European 112 Day has been observed on 11 February, since a Tripartite Convention was signed on that date in 2009 by the European Commission, the European Parliament and the EU Council, establishing the day of a single European emergency number 112. The Declaration urges the EU member states to promote number 112 and all events marking this day in media, and raise the public awareness on its use.
On 29 July the Council of the European Communities adopted a decision on the introduction of the single European emergency number 112, which went operational in Croatia on 11 February 2005, and our country thus joined the single European project of reporting accidents and emergencies on number 112. The number is free and available for reporting all emergency situations, any time day or night, no matter where you are in Croatia.
