On the night between 4 and 5 February 2015, an upgrade of the CroATMS_C software to version B2.5 was activated, and Croatia Control Ltd thus joined the COOPANS members that had already deployed the new software version.
Some changes to the radar distribution system (RDD) were also made that night, including CCL’s responsibility for its maintenance. These changes will enable the receiving of radar data distributed via IP networks, and facilitate receipt and distribution of radar data in the future.
The last was category change of radar data received from military radars, where ASTERIX cat001 was replaced by cat048, which enables the transmission of Mode S data received from military radars.
The upgrade of the CroATMS_C software to version B2.5 is a precondition for the integration of ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast) and WAM (Wide Area Multilateration) sensors in the system.
